Ready to take your engineering career to the next level? We’re looking for a hands-on Service Engineer, to join our dynamic, fast-growing team, who is happy with the occasional international trip to help customers when needed. If you're a self-starter, who loves problem solving, fixing things, keeping customers happy, working with cutting-edge technology, this is your chance to make a real impact.
You Are:
A self-motivated, skilled Service or Maintenance Engineer who thrives on solving problems and delivering exceptional customer service. You communicate with confidence and clarity—whether face-to-face or online. You’re up for occasional international travel (short trips, up to a week, around 20-25% of the time), but you know it's better to prevent issues before they happen. People trust you because you get things done, on time and to the highest standard. You don’t just fix things—you improve them by observing, reflecting, learning, documenting, and sharing knowledge to shape a better future.
Your Role:
- Keep customers running – Create product, troubleshooting, and maintenance guides to minimise customer downtime.
- Be proactive, not reactive – Focus on preventative maintenance and remote support. However, when things go wrong, you contact customers immediately, resolve issues quickly, and get their kit working.
- Get hands-on when needed – Travel internationally on short-term trips (~20-25%) to diagnose and fix issues.
- Deliver excellence – Follow strict safety and quality standards.
- Communicate with impact – Make complex technical info simple for non-technical clients, both in person and remotely.
- Be a team player – Collaborate with engineering and support teams to enhance performance.
- Be the face of Laser Wire – Build strong relationships with customers and clients, always prioritising safety and quality.
What You Bring:
- Problem-solving mindset – You think ahead, use data, assess risks, and tackle challenges head-on.
- Attention to detail – ‘Right first time’ is how you work.
- Cool under pressure – You stay focused in tough situations.
- Strong communicator – You listen first, then explain technical concepts clearly.
- Customer-first approach – We are only here because of them. Customer satisfaction is #1 aim.
- Adaptability & flexibility – You embrace new challenges and change with confidence.
- Reliable & dependable – You deliver on time, every time. People trust your commitments.
- Team-oriented – You can’t be a lone wolf. You like to work with people.
- Curious & always learning – You stay ahead of new technology and sharpen your skills.
What to Expect:
- Variety & travel – A mix of onsite work and international travel (~20-25%, trips up to a week).
- Hands-on problem solving – Work with engineering drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Freedom to explore – Work across lab, production, and test areas.
- Tech-savvy tools – Use Teams, Microsoft Office, and Freshdesk (we’ll train you!).
- Trust – We believe in getting the job done, not micromanaging (we'll support and guide you).
- Autonomy – You have the freedom to work across departments to figure things out and get stuff done.
- Fast-paced environment – Prioritising tasks is key—you’ll always have something to do.
- Full training & ongoing support – We set you up for success from day one.
Why Join Us?
- High-growth, unique technical company – Be part of an exciting, dynamic industry.
- Every day is different – Challenging, rewarding work that keeps you on your toes in a rapidly evolving market.
- Make a real impact – You’ll have the freedom to make decisions and drive improvements.
- Great team, great support – Work with knowledgeable people who, like you, value continuous improvement and great customer service.
- We invest in you – Full training and support, whether you’re in the office or out in the field.
