Axiom

The Axiom is an enclosed, operator-safe femtosecond laser workstation designed for ultra-precision manufacturing applications.

When conventional laser processes introduce too much heat or risk damaging the material, Axiom provides a higher level of control and precision. It’s also a highly-customizable machine built for the medical device manufacturing industry.

Using femtosecond laser technology, Axiom enables true cold ablation, helping manufacturers process complex, delicate, and high-value components with minimal thermal impact and without mechanical stress.

No Thermal Compromise

Femtosecond pulses remove material before heat can transfer to the surrounding area, eliminating heat-affected zones and preserving material properties.

Unmatched Precision

Achieve micro-scale features and complex geometries with exceptional control; ideal for applications where even minor variation is unacceptable.

Process the Unprocessable

Materials and structures that are difficult – or impossible – to process using longer pulse lasers can be reliably machined using femtosecond technology.

Non-Contact & Repeatable

No tool wear, no mechanical force, and highly consistent results; reducing variability and improving yield.

Operator-Safe Laser Workstation

Precision Manufacturing. Designed with Operator Safety in Mind.

High-performance femtosecond lasers require appropriate controls to protect operators from direct or reflected laser radiation.

The Axiom system brings femtosecond processing into an enclosed, operator-safe laser workstation, allowing precision laser manufacturing to be carried out within a controlled production environment.

The workstation is designed around the safety requirements of production use, combining the femtosecond laser source with an enclosed processing area, interlocked areas, and machine control within a single integrated platform.

Is the Axiom an operator-safe laser workstation?

Yes. The Axiom is an enclosed femtosecond laser workstation designed for use in a production environment. Laser Wire Solutions equipment uses Class 1 laser safety enclosures with dual fail-safe interlocked optical enclosure and monitoring to contain the laser during normal operation. Suitable fume extraction is also required for the materials generated during laser processing.

What does Axiom stand for?

An axiom is a fundamental principle; something accepted as a foundation to build from. We chose the name because the platform has been developed to support the next generation of precision laser processing applications, where accuracy, flexibility, and process control are critical.

It also continues the Laser Wire Solutions tradition of space-themed system names. Axiom is the name of a commercial space station designed to support the future of exploration and innovation, reflecting the advanced capabilities and forward-thinking approach behind the Axiom-1 platform.
