Making an Impact at Productronica 2019

The Productronica 2019 show has been regarded as a huge success by the technical and sales teams of Laser Wire Solutions.

The engineering team pulled off a major technical feat by building a totally new system from scratch within a 12 week period and with very little margin for error. The Viking-4 became a prominent part of the display on Stand 561 (Hall A5) at productonica in Munich last week. This imposing laser system houses four powerful (100-Watt) lasers that ablate (fully strip) the enamel insulation from magnet wires. These wires are typically configured in a hairpin design and feature in motors and stators utilized in electric vehicle production.

The sales team saw a regular flow of customers, agents and new contacts onto the stand. New enquiries were registered for all systems, including some significant attention paid to Mercury-4, Mercury-5 and Mercury-6 systems – laser strippers designed strip the polymer insulation of wires and cables in a variety of configurations.

What did surprise us was the level of interest in our ability not only to strip but to solder at sub-pitch ultra thin medical wires. We demonstrated this on a large screen as we couldn’t remove the system from the lab in Wales where important tests were being conducted for a major customer.
